Serena Williams ruled her out from the tennis scene for 2010
The 29-year-old American tennis star Serena Williams is busy recovering from her left foot injury. The tennis veteran has lost the top rank of tennis because of it, and it seems like her chances of getting back to the tennis court in the near future are
very bleak.
According to a very recent report Serena has been ruled out from the tennis scene for the rest of 2010. In a very recent interview the 29-years-old expressed her thoughts in a state of despair and told the media that she is very frustrated over her current
situation.
Serena Williams was supposed to make a comeback in the Austrian Open tennis event but she pulled out from the tournament at the last minute as she was not feeling fit to play. It is to be remembered that Serena endured the foot injury after standing on a
broken glass in Munich in July this year, and since then she has not been able to fully recover from the incident.
The former world number one last played at Wimbledon where she achieved her fourth major single title and second Grand Slam title of this season. The current situation of her injury is proving to be a bit too much for her, as it has sidelined her from the
tennis court for another three months.
It is reported that the American superstar felt problems while practicing in Florida this weekend, and later she declared her absence from all the upcoming tennis events in 2010.
Serena said that she has been busy in training to get fit and recover from the injury as soon as possible, but it seems that it will take more time. While taking about her recent experience while practicing in Florida, the 29-year-old said that she felt
a little discomfort during the practice session. She added that she had consulted her doctor and according the doctor’s reports, she has unfortunately re-damaged the injury because of over practicing, which is no doubt a bad sign for her.
The former world number one Serena Williams is sailing through some serious mental stress these days, as she is not able to play and her comeback to the tennis circuit is not possible in near future. She expressed her thoughts very disappointingly and told
the world that she was very hopeful to participate in the tennis championship at Doha, but it seems that her bad luck is still surrounding her. She added that she was planning for a very strong comeback, and now she is feeling very devastated. The dejected
player went on to say that she was not happy with the way everything is happening to her.
She told the media about her plans and said that she will try her level best to recapture her physical form as soon as possible after consulting her doctor. Her sister, Venus Williams is suffering from knee injury, and it means that both of the Williams
sisters will not be able to participate in any of the tennis events of 2010. Venus has not played since last month after losing in the semi-finals of US Open Grand Slam, which was held in New York. After the Williams sisters the next highest ranked American
female tennis player is Bethanie Mattek Sands. Sands is currently at the fifty ninth spot in world ranking.
Serena Williams was replaced by 22-year-old Serbian tennis star and current world number twenty nine Ana Ivanovic in the Austrian Open tennis championship.
The current situation and re-straining of Serena’s foot injury is definitely given a strong blow to the aims and ambitions of the American veteran but her fans are still hopeful to see her in full action soon. Her fans all across the world wish the American
superstar good luck.
