Serena Williams slays Greta Arn to reach the fourth round – Australian Open 2012
Former world number one, Serena Williams, showed the exit door to the 92nd ranked Hungarian contestant, Greta Arn, in the third round of the Australian Open tournament. Final scores were 6-1, 6-1.
It was a straight forward draw for the big tennis ace; she wasted little time to place a berth in the fourth round of the contest.

Both players were facing each other for the first time at tennis courts so it was obvious that Arn has not experienced the rocket paced serves from the American. Williams showed her the nightmare with those thumping serves
and blistering forehand drives. She rocked the show and a huge portion of the crowd cheered for the controversial tennis fashion icon of America.
First five games of the match were easily bagged by the American tennis ace that included two successful serve breaks. There was absolutely no chances provided to the Hungarian tennis icon to settle into the match. Those
rocket-paced winners down the line were the essence of Williams’ game style during the two serve breaks.
Some people were still moving into the arena and Williams had already gobbled up the first five games of the set. It was a message to those late comers that they have been better at the arena on time because the American
wastes little time in pounding her opponent down. Arn finally managed to sneak one game to her name but that was the only thing she could store for herself in the first half of the match. Williams was in devastating form, winning almost all her net points
and kept her opponent on the back foot throughout the set. She held her serve in the last game and named the first set.
Second set was complete replica of the first one. The opening four games were won by the American that included two serve breaks. Sparing just one game for the opponent, Williams bagged the second set in quick succession.
It was a world class performance from a world class performer. She is lucky to have another easy draw against Russian competitor Ekaterina Makarova; remains the hot favourite to win the Slam title.
