American veteran, Serena Williams, promises to be the most dominant player, aiming to rule the WTA Rankings once again.
The 15-time Grand Slam champion is having a superb run of form and hopes to be crowned the world number one player once again soon.
Talking to the media in an interview Williams’ said, “I definitely think I can improve some more. The day I feel that I can’t improve, I think that’s the day I should probably hang up my racket.”
The right-hander professional displayed a remarkable comeback in the middle of the season and completely shocked her rivals. She is definitely a threat to her higher ranked competitors due to her unchallengeable potency at this age and superior experience
than everyone.
Previously, the American professional suffered from serious health issues and was unable to play tennis for 12 months from 2010 to 2011. She was suffering from blood clots in her lungs but irrespective of that on her arrival in 2012 Australian Open, she
lost in the fourth round at the hands of the Russian challenger, Ekaterina Makarova. She struggled hard, clinching a decent ranking by improving her game for major tournaments.
The American participant picked momentum after winning the final round at the Mutua Madrilena Madrid Open. She penned down a straight sets win, 6-1, 6-3 against the reigning world number one, Victoria Azarenka. However, she faced the most disappointment
loss at the hands of Virginie Razzano in the first round of the French Open.
The 2012 world number one, Williams, pushed all her rivals in the Wimbledon Championship. In the semi-finals, she faced a tough encounter at the hands of the Belarusian rival, Victoria Azarenka. Towards the end, she took over the Pole challenger, Agnieszka
Radwanska, securing a straight sets win 6-1, 5-7, 6-2.
This added wings on the shoulders to the 31-year-old American and she dared to take away the gold medal in the London 2012 Olympics. She outmuscled the Russian beauty, Maria Sharapova by giving a shocking defeat, 6-0, 6-1 in the final round.
The American senior was the top favourite contender for the US Open Grand Slam and she secured her final win of the season, silencing her critics. For the 2013 season, Williams is eager to bag away all the Grand Slam titles for the next season due to thriving
energy even at this age.
