Serena Williams transferred to ATP from WTA – Tennis Special
Former world number one, Serena Williams, has been transferred to the Association of Tennis Professionals after an emphatic season that featured some mind-startling performances. She is absolutely thrilled to play against the top
ranked male players of the world. She will swap places with the sixth ranked French star, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, who hasn’t been able to make any impact this season. Tsonga will hold the third spot in the Women Tennis Association world rankings; replacing Williams
whilst the American superstar will replace the Frenchman in the Association of Tennis Professionals rankings.
Recapping the performance of Williams over the course of year, one can easily understand the decision of ATP officials. They have started a policy of transferring the best player of WTA to ATP and transfer the worst of Top-6 players
to WTA. It is going to be an enthralling opportunity for viewers to witness the likes of 31-year-old American playing against the top ranked ATP professionals like Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray. She is definitely going to give them tough time,
especially considering the level of her domination in WTA.
Women cry about equal rights. It is high time for Williams to save her kind by performing brilliantly in ATP during the season of 2013. She will be playing five-set matches in Grand Slams that will portray the level of energy and
stamina women possesses. It will also be a good indicator to stop the possible boycott from women who want equal prize money as men in all four Grand Slams.
Williams has won Wimbledon Championships, Olympics, Bank of West Classic, US Open and WTA Championships. She is the second women in the history of tennis to complete a Career Gold Grand Slam. She has been an invincible force this
season with a fantastic record of 58-6. Out of those 6 losses, three of them were due to injury-forced withdrawals. So technically, the American legend has been unbeatable throughout the season and deservingly got a place in ATP. She is representing the women
and must not embarrass them with a lagging attitude. She is supposed to go out there and prove her worth just like she ruled the world of women tennis in 2012.
It might come across as a surprise to all of you but Williams was absolutely thrilled to be performing amongst men. She confessed in a press conference, “I am glad to be chosen as per the player transfer policy by the Association
of Tennis Professionals. I will do my level best and try to cement my position amongst the top notch. I always wanted to play against the likes of Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic and show them what women can do at the courts. It is my chance
to take the flag of WTA to next level and I will not leave the arena barehanded; will fight until the last drop of energy in my body.”
It looks like the American is all pumped up to be where she belongs and no one can stop her.
Note: The whole article is based on fiction and doesn’t comply with any realistic scenario. I wants this transfer plan to be implemented so that a lot of questions can be answered.
