Serena Williams’s Wimbledon triumph was the result of the early exit at French Open – Tennis News
Five-time Wimbledon Champion, Serena Williams, reveals her secret to the majestic triumph in the grand finale of the year’s third Grand Slam Championship at the All England Lawn Tennis Club on Saturday. She ousted the second ranked
Pole, Agnieszka Radwanska, in the final showdown to grab her fifth Wimbledon Championship of the career.
Furthermore, she teamed up with her elder sister, Venus Williams, in the doubles category and grabbed the fifth Wimbledon doubles title as well. It has been a remarkable start to the grass court season for the American number one
who jumps up to the fourth place in the world rankings.
The 30-year-old American powerhouse talked to the media representatives and unleashed her love for Paris, “I love Paris and I spend a lot of time there. I have a place there. I’ve been kind of almost living there a lot. I found
a great facility and I know Patrick and he’s a great guy. I loved working with him while I was in Paris.”
Something is strange in her sayings, she loves Paris but she lost in the opening round of the Roland Garros French Open; falling apart to the French qualifier, Virginie Razzano. The main reason for her stupendous performance at
the grass court Grand Slam Championship was that she was gutted by her first round exit at Paris, the place she loves to play. So, she had to wipe off the disappointment and she did that in style.
She added, “It puts doubts in your mind, but that is normal. It affected me more than any other in my career. You have to climb back out if you can.” It is good to see that the former world number one is still serious about her
game and seeking motivation from her losses. Usually, players at this age or short tempered and can’t build up stamina to fight their way up.
Williams is coached by her parents. She never hired a professional coach in her entire professional career that featured 14 single Grand Slam titles. She graced the services of her father in the following manner, “My dad is always
out there on the court, as well as my mom. My dad is my coach. He has had a great formula, I think, in the past decade or more. It works.” It is always a treat to witness big players performing on the top of their game at elite tournaments.
