The former world number US tennis starlet Serena Williams is currently recovering from her foot injury and her chances of participating in the January’s Australian Open tennis event are very bleak.
According to some news reports the current world number four tennis ace from American, Serena Williams is still recovering from her foot injury which she picked up during her tour to Italy in a restaurant. It is also to be noticed that Serena Williams has
not participated in any tennis event after winning the Wimbledon tennis tournament in July.
Serena Williams tried to take part in the WTA Championships tennis tournament, which was held in Qatar but during a practice session she damaged her foot muscles and sidelined herself from taking part in the season’s final tennis event.
In a very recent interview she expressed her views and ambitions and told the media about her future plans and medical condition. Williams expressed her in a relaxed way and told that before the Championships tennis tournament of Qatar she was trying hard
to recover from her foot injury as soon as possible but it resulted in further damage to her injury. She added and said that at the moment she is trying to take some time off from practicing hard.
Her absence from the first Grand Slam of the next season of tennis might give a strong blow to her international tennis ranking. While talking about the matter the twenty nine years old tennis ace Williams said that she is eager to take part in the Australian
Open but she is not confident whether she will be completely fit or not.
She told the media about her medical condition and said that she is very concerned with her injury and regularly visiting her medical consultant. She continued and said that she will not take part in any of the tennis tournaments unless her doctors allowed
her to.
The year 2010 has been a very good year for Serena Williams as she won the Australian and Wimbledon Grand Slam tournaments. Her left foot injury has definitely given a strong blow to her plans and ambitions for the next season of Tennis. Moreover the injury
of Serena Williams opened a window of opportunity for the young Danish tennis star Caroline Wozniacki to usurp the world number one rank from her.
Serena Williams said that the decision of sidelining herself from taking part in the first Grand Slam of the new tennis season is very tough for her but her injury is compelling her to stay away from tennis court at the moment.
The thirteen major titles winner Serena has won the Australian Open Grand Slam for five times during her and blistering tennis career and her absence from the upcoming Australian Open is certainly not good news for her Australian tennis fans.
On the other hand the head of the Australian Open Grand Slam event Craig Tiley has said that players like Serena Williams have taken the game of Tennis to a new level and her absence from the tournament will be missed. Tilay added that Serena is a very good
player and he wishes her best of luck for the future.
The absence of Serena Williams from the tennis court is no doubt very frustrating for her fans from all around the world. Her fast recovery and return to the tennis court is eagerly awaited.
