Serena safe in top spot after Indian Wells?

Can anyone take the No. 1 ranking from Serena Williams once all the results have been decided at Indian Wells in 2010? Serena isn’t in the field here.

    No. Williams has a buffer of more than 2000 ranking points on world No. 2 Dinara Safina (who is not playing the tournament either). The titlist at Indian Wells picks up 1000 ranking points, so there’s no-one close enough to threaten Serena’s ranking at the moment.
