Sergei Pareiko keen for move to Celtic

Celtic target Sergei Pareiko has issued a 'come and get me' plea to the Scottish Premier League giants.

Hoops boss Neil Lennon has been on the lookout for a top-class goalkeeper who can make the position his own in the long-term.
Lukasz Zaluska and Dominic Cervi have failed to impress the Northern Irishman, and current first-choice keeper Fraser Forster is at Celtic Park on loan from English Premier League side Newcastle United.

However, Pareiko's contract with Russian Premier League outfit ends at the end of December, and Lennon has been urged by his goalkeeping coach to sign the 33-year-old Estonian international.

After hearing of Celtic's interest in him, Pareiko revealed that he would jump at the chance to play for the Hoops and hopes that a deal can be struck.

He told the Daily Record, "A move to Celtic would take my career to a new level. I would love to play for such a big club. I can't say at this point how close we are to reaching an agreement because Celtic have not made an offer yet, but I have known
about their interest for a month.

"Stevie Woods has visited Estonia and I have spoken to him. Woods has told Neil Lennon to sign me and his recommendation has been accepted. We are waiting to hear from Celtic's board about the final decision because they hold the purse strings. Tom Tomsk have
also offered me an extra two years and another Russian Premier League club want me. However, Celtic are my first choice."

Pareiko started out his career with Tallinna Sadam in his homeland, and has featured for Casale Calcio in Italy, as well as for Russian side Rotor Volgograd.

He made his international debut in 1996 and has made 22 appearances for his country.
