The Zenit St. Petersburg midfielder leads fight to save under-fire manager from Rubin Kazan revolt.
Zenit St Petersburg midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergei-Semak-c32976, has raised his voice against Rubin Kazan’s management, revealing that the Volzhane cannot afford to lose the Russian tactician at the moment.
Reports in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Russia-c2991 suggest that Berdyev has fallen out with the club management, having put a lot of fringe players on the transfer list. Rubin president, Dmitry Samarenkin, transfer-listed six players in the recently concluded
window.
Rubin were speculated to lose http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Christian-Noboa-c9105 has already completed his switch to Dynamo
Moscow.
Consequently, Berdyev has now called up a meeting with the board of trustees, in which he will discuss the transfer policy along with the reason behind his resignation.
The former Rubin president, Alexander Gusev, has confirmed that Berdyev had a serious talk with the Volzhane acting president earlier this week.
“I do not know about his resignation. I only know that on Monday he had a serious talk with the club president and that a meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday with the board of trustees of the club.” Gusev said.
However, Samarenkin has remained tight-lipped over the situation and shrugged off the rumours linking Berdyev with a move away from Tsentralnyi Stadion during this transfer window.
"I do not have such information. I have no differences with Berdyev." The president concluded.
Semak, who once played for Rubin back in 2008, praised Berdyev and revealed that the 59-year-old manager has what it takes to lead the Kazan-based club.
“I think Rubin’s success is associated with Berdyev.
“I hope that the board of trustees of the club and its management will be able to stop Berdyev from resigning. If not, Kazan will lose a lot in terms of sports.” Semak was quoted as saying.
Rubin are enjoying a decent campaign this term, as they are fifth on the league table while also having secured a pre-quarter final berth in the UEFA Europa League.
