Sergei Silkin urges Dynamo Moscow to improve after Rubin Kazan defeat - Russian Premier League news
In the latest round of Russian Premier League action, UEFA Europa League hopefuls, Rubin Kazan, thumped Dynamo Moscow 2-0 at Tsentralnyi Stadion, Kazan.
In the aftermath of the defeat, the Dinamiki head coach Sergei Silkin has lamented his team’s performance and revealed that the Russian outfit failed to demonstrate their potential.
Both teams played their last match of the Russian championship, before the winter break, which now will resume in March 2012.
Dynamo Moscow have slipped down to third spot after the humiliating defeat, as they failed to close the gap on table-toppers, Zenit St. Petersburg. However a win could have moved Rubin well within the reach of a UEFA Champions
League place.
The Dinamiki did not qualify for the UEFA Europa League last season, but Silkin is confident that the White-blues can secure a top-three finish this term. He added that not being involved in European competitions might help the
Russian outfit in their quest to return to European football.
Despite Dynamo’s decent run of form, Rubin were on top of their game when they defeated the visiting team for the third time in the calendar year. Silkin appreciated their efforts by saying:
“Rubin deserve to be applauded because they had a wonderful game. I congratulate them on their win. Playing against these teams always demands a lot of concentration and we went out relaxed a little. If we had played aggressively,
a lot would have happened. Unfortunately, we have lost it.”
He added:
“A slow start has cost us the game. We tried everything possible to rectify the situation but it was too late too little."
The fact that Dynamo strikers, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Andriy-Voronin-c6020, both started the match but failed to influence the game displeases Silkin, who is of the belief that the Russian outfit need to alter their performance.
The Russian tactician went on to reveal that the Russian outfit need to strengthen their bench in the upcoming winter transfer window. Silkin showed confidence in his team's ability to bounce back from the defeat and predicted
a decent finish to the season.
