The USSR Cup winner hails Zenit St. Petersburg’s latest win over Spartak Moscow and gives his verdict on the their upcoming game against Lokomotiv Moscow
Former Sturm Graz player, Sergei Yuran, has tipped Zenit St. Petersburg to retain the Russian Premier League title after their recent 2-1 league win over arch rivals, Spartak Moscow.

Yuran revealed that the latest win will prove to be a catalyst in Zenit’s quest to retain the league title this season. He praised Luciano Spalletti, admitting that the tactician is the right man to lead the Russian outfit.
“The game showed that Zenit are much better equipped as compared to Spartak and most importantly they played quality football. Though Spartak controlled the ball more during the first half but in terms of individual performance
and effective team work, Zenit were better.” The Portuguese Cup winner was quoted as saying.
Zenit's next test will be against Lokomotiv Moscow at Luzhniki stadium. Yuran has urged the St. Petersburg club to extend their decent domestic run. Zenit prevailed in a 2-1 home victory, the last time the two teams lokced horns.
Yuran revealed that Zenit need to show consistency in their performances. He admitted that the Russian Champions had a poor start to the third league round , and has urged the team to get their act together.
The Russian Cup winner believes that the Meshki need to win the upcoming tie against the Moscow-based club, if they want to take a healthy lead over second-placed, CSKA Moscow. He lamented the injuries at Petrovsky and admitted
that Zenit will have to work harder in their remaining games.
