The player wishes to be able to be as good as the Argentine legend. At the same time, the striker wishes to reach the peak of his footballing career with Manchester City, just the way Maradona did with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003.
Aguero has almost always gone on to express his admiration for Maradona and believes that being able to be half as good as Maradona was, would help him believe that he is a half decent footballer.
When asked about his ambitions over recreating the success that Maradona had at club level, Aguero went on to respond by stating: "Yes definitely it’s my dream doing what Maradona did for Napoli, doing the same for Manchester City but I don’t want to talk
about individuality, it’s important Manchester City do well as a team."
At the moment Aguero is set to take on Maradona’s former club team, as City look to travel to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 to take on Napoli.
Despite being an Argentine like Maradona, Aguero doesn’t expect to receive any special treatment, but believes the crowd might feel some sympathy for him, as they link him to their former hero.
"I can’t imagine special treatment for me tomorrow. Every game excites me but the fact Diego was an Argentinean player will probably help me.”
Aguero then went on to highlight the importance that Maradona had on Napoli, as he believes Maradona was the king of football for Napoli and their supporters.
"For the Napoli fans Maradona is the king of football. In the past he told me everything about Napoli and also I’ve seen on TV what he’s done for Napoli, how important he was for the fans.”
In order for Aguero to be loved by the City fans, the way Maradona was loved by the Napoli fans, the striker is going to have to constantly produce some world class performances.
The forward has already had a good start to life with the Premier League side and should he maintain this pace, he is more than likely to become a fan favourite over night.
However, even if Aguero scores a ridiculous number of goals, he would never be considered to be as good as Maradona, if he doesn’t help City win a title or two.
As a result, it is now going to be a wait to see just how important Aguero is to City, as they look to capitalize on their brilliant start to the season, as they look to head towards picking up another trophy this season.
