The versatile defender was at the heart of La Granotes schemes as they made history with their first steps in a UEFA premier club competition.

The experienced campaigner stated that he was pleased to etch his name in the history books, claiming that La Granotes are going through a golden period.
Continuing on the topic, Ballesteros paid tribute to the fans and the players who were part of the club, stating that their success is special to everyone, especially the fans.
“Being in Europe and to play for the first time in a European competition could serve as a tribute to everyone for all the people and all the players on over 100 years of Levante.”

The veteran centre-back played down the average age of La Granotes, admitting that they are one of the oldest squads in La Liga but believes their performances state otherwise.
“I cannot comment if this is the best time in our history, but everything is being valued more after some complicated moments recently.”
With the club enjoying good moments, Ballesteros shared that he reveres playing for his hometown club in all of top three Spanish domestic league competitions with them.
