After a good start to the season, the exciting attacking midfielder suffered the ignominy of a heart breaking knee ligament injury ruling him out for over six months.
The time Canales has spent in the medical facilities in the Valencian community have not been kind to his adopted club who have failed to conjure consistent displays in La Liga.
The Cantabrian recently returned to normal training, and believes he will improve as he gets back into shape.
"It was important to get back playing after so many months out."

"It will be very important to both score goals and keep a clean sheet," he mused. "It's going to be a difficult game but we have to go out there with all the enthusiasm in the world.”
