Sergio Garcia believes he is too ‘cool’ for a major championship, the Spanish is bad at hiding the truth!
The US Open was a nightmare for many golfers around the world but one man is definitely not bothered by any major championship. Although he has been participating in almost all of the major tournaments but still, he claims he is not bothered.
Sergio Garcia thinks he is better than a major championship winner and is still the best without having a single win at any major event in his entire career.
His US Open venture saw him embarrassing himself among the top golfers in the USA. It was painful to witness Garcia finishing at a miserable 38th position.
He is playing golf since 1996 and has failed to grasp a single major title. It was surprising to hear from Garcia that he is not concerned about missing a major win. On the other hand, he has hardly missed any major championship opportunity and has been
present in all the major fixtures.
"If I don't have a major, what can I do, I'm not going to take my life because I don't win a major. Fortunately I have a lot of other things that maybe some of those guys who have won majors don't have,” said the Spanish golfer.
He seemed furious about the major victory dilemma he is enduring and his words depicted something else.
“Many things, many friends, many other hobbies that make me happy, so you know, some guys need to win a major, some guys don't,” said Garcia.
It was almost childish of him to cry out about a missing major win. All he had to do was to accept the fact that he has been trying really hard to get a major win but has failed.
Moreover, he is committed to getting one in the near future, as it is clear by his major championship participation in the past few years.
It was the upcoming British Open that got him in the right mood after the anger he displayed regarding the major championship issue.
“But I just love the British Open. I love the people that come to watch the British Open. I love the golf courses and the challenges that it provides, and that's why it is my favourite tournament,” said Garcia.
The major championship dream Garcia denies is something that is actually haunting the Spanish in the back of his head, no matter how many times he denies it, he wants a major win desperately.
