Sergio Perez eagerly looking forward to 2012 Chinese Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Sauber-Ferrari driver Sergio Perez says that he is eagerly looking forward to Chinese Grand Prix which is going to be held at Shanghai International Circuit on April 15, 2012.
Perez secured an inspiring second podium finish after staring from ninth position in the grid at second GP held at Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia and gave a tough time to the Spaniard, Fernando Alonso of Ferrari who won the race in the end.
Moreover, the Mexican driver secured eighth position after setting off from 22ndplace in the grid in the season opener held at Albert Park in Melbourne, Australia.
It will be interesting to know that Perez is the first Mexican driver to claim a podium finish in the last 41 years and has been compared with the legendary Ayrton Senna of Brazil.
Furthermore, Perez said that he is aiming to perform well in the race ahead. He has also expressed that he has spent some really good time after the second race in Mexico after his memorable performance at Sepang.
“I am very much looking forward to the Chinese Grand Prix. I enjoyed the short break after the race in Malaysia, although, especially in the beginning, it was a busy time back in Mexico. The reception in Guadalajara was absolutely great and I really loved
seeing my family and friends at home,” said Perez.
Nonetheless, he said that he is focusing to keep on making the necessary improvements in his performance for the upcoming races. In addition, he said that they need to work extremely hard in order to enhance the pace of the car for the season ahead.
Besides, he said that that they have quite a competitive car while he said that they need to bring out the best in them so as to explore the true potential of C31 for the upcoming races.
“However, I'm very much focused on thinking about further improvements and continued with my training programme. We all have to keep our heads down and work hard. Our car can be competitive and we have to make the most of it,” said Perez.
