Sergio Perez eyes another competitive result in 2012 Singapore Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Sauber driver Sergio Perez has said that he is confidently eying to secure another competitive result in the 2012 Singapore Grand Prix which is going to be held at Marina Bay Street Circuit on September 23.
Perez delivered a tremendous performance in the Italian GP at Autodromo di Monza in which he secured an incredible second podium finish after overtaking Ferrari drivers, Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso.
The Mexican driver said that the Singapore GP is a very special race for him while he admired its track which has got unique and completely different characteristics as compared to the other circuits. Furthermore, he said that the environment of a night
race is really marvellous.
In addition, he said that they have got a very competent car for the race ahead. Besides, he said that even though it will be very difficult to overtake on a street circuit, however, he asserted that he is excitingly looking forward to take part in this
weekend’s race.
Above and beyond, he said that they are ready to fight at their best in the remaining races of the current season and are feeling very much positive to secure another promising result in the upcoming race.
"The Singapore GP is very special race on an extraordinary track with unique schedule," said the Mexican driver. "You race at night and you live at night. Also it will be first round back in Asia after quite a while. The amount of travelling is increasing
now. I generally like street circuits and one in Singapore is physically quite demanding, but I feel prepared for that. Also for our car it should be an okay track to race on. I am very much looking forward to it and I want to get in another good result for
team at that very prestigious race."
It will be important to note that he has been deemed as one of the most talented youngsters in the field and has proven his potential by securing three podium finishes in the season until now.
