Sergio Perez looking for his future with Ferrari – Formula 1 news
Formula 1 Sauber driver Sergio Perez has admitted that he has a dream to drive for Ferrari in his future, as every other driver wishes.
The Mexican made his debut race successfully for Sauber in Australia. He put a big surprise for Formula 1 fans, by taking only one pit stop over the Melbourne race. He finished his best outing with his teammate Kamui Kobayashi, but at the last laps of the
race, they were disqualified from the course, due to having some technical issues in their machine. The team did not appeal for their exclusion from the race and have fixed all problems for the Malaysian Grand Prix.
The team director James Key said at the end of Australian Grand Prix, “This is a very surprising and disappointing result. It appears that there is a question over the top surface of the uppermost rear wing element, this area is not the working surface of
the component and therefore relatively unimportant to its function.”
The team was very motivated for the Sepang race, as they took a strong start in the 2011 season. However, they participated in the Malaysian event and completed their free practice and qualifying sessions successfully among the strong F1 rivals.
Due to having an accident, Perez was not classified on the Malaysian race sheet and as a result, he retired from the course. However, his team-mate Kobayashi finished seventh ahead of Hamilton and took six supportive points for his team over the race.
After the two events of this season, Perez shared his feelings for Ferrari and said that he is aiming to be ready for his future with Scarlet team of Formula 1.
He added, “If I was to say no I would be lying. For sure it's a dream for me to drive for them one day. I think it's too early to say. I think there's a long way to go for me, lots to learn and a lot of work ahead of me. I hope I can be ready for something
like this by the end of this year.”
The Ferrari’s driver Felipe Massa had a very bad, last season with his team however, before the start of this season, Ferrari updated the media that if Massa again gives a worst season then he has an option and will be free to join another F1 team.
From the start of 2011 season, Massa’s performance is not still encouraging for the team however, Perez expressed his wish on the right time and said there could be a chance for him with Ferrari in the future.
