Sergio Perez says he will feel happy to stay at Sauber in 2013 – Formula 1 news
Sauber driver Sergio Perez has said that he will feel very happy to stay at his current team in 2013 as the time for him to take the decision regarding his future is about to come in the next few weeks.
Perez is racing in his second season with the Swiss team and has performed reasonably well in this year until now. He has secured tremendous podium finishes in the Malaysian and Canadian grands prix and has been deemed as one of the most talented drivers
in the field.
Moreover, it will be important to mention that he has been reported as a potential replacement for Felipe Massa of Ferrari who struggled with his form in almost all the races during the first half of the current season.
However, the Mexican driver has said that he would love to continue his career with Sauber and asserted that he is in no hurry to change his team.
Furthermore, he praised his team for all their efforts in the season so far. He also expressed that they are very much optimistic about the forthcoming races and are aiming to make their make stronger in the title chase.
In addition, he said that he is contended with his team while he said that they have got the potential to develop a competent car for the coming season.
“Sauber is a great team and doing a fantastic job,” Perez said. “When I go to the factory and see the people motivated every day, I don't see a reason why I would want to leave. I'm happy here and every day I'm more comfortable. I think the team can build
a good car for next year, so as I said, I don't see a reason to step away from it.”
Over and above, he said that he is in a very good shape to secure a competitive position in this year’s championship and is hoping to score points with consistency in the upcoming races.
“I'm not really worried about it, I'm in a good position and I'm just thinking about the second half of the season, which is the most important for me,” he added.
