Reports emanating from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786, Manchester City, and Manchester United on red alert.
The intelligence suggested that the reason for a move was due to a fall-out with star player Ronaldo, as well as a breakdown in the re-negotiation of the player's new long-term deal at the Bernabeu. There was a suggestion Ronaldo had polarised opinion in the
Madrid locker room to such an extent, Ramos was seriously considering quitting the Bernabeu.
Ramos’ agent and brother Rene Ramos admitted that talks had stalled over a new deal at the Bernabeu. However, he fervently denied that his client and brother had fallen out with former Manchester United star Ronaldo.
“He doesn't want to leave the club and he hasn't any problems with Cristiano or the manager. Sergio is really happy in Madrid and I hope we can stay for many years.” Rene Ramos explained.
“He is the Vice-Captain and one of the key players of the team. His relationship with Ronaldo is friendly.” In a recent interview for a Madrid newspaper, Cristiano admitted http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Iker-Casillas-c16815 and Sergio Ramos were his closest mates in the club.
“Besides, Sergio is delighted with Mourinho, who trusted him completely. All these reports are quite outrageous, it sounds like a joke or an effort to unsettle the team. I also heard that some papers in Barcelona published this story and they did it with contrasting
information, only with the intention of disturbing the rival. I can guarantee 100% that this story is completely untrue.”
While Ramos was eager to press that a Ronaldo fall-out was utter rubbish, he did admit that contract talks had broken down.
“Right now that matter is quite stuck to be honest. I think it is something really important for both, the club and the player and when the day comes I hope we won't have problems to continue in Madrid for many years.”
The Spanish international’s current contract runs out in 2016, and following Spain’s successful World Cup Ramos was eager to re-negotiate his current wage deal, however Madrid President Florentino Perez pulled out of talks.
Ramos, 24, has been at the Bernabeu since 2005 when he moved from Sevilla for a fee in the region of €27 million. The talented defender who can play at right back and centre-half was a key member of Spain’s European Championship win in 2008 and their World
Cup win last summer.
The Madrid defender is considered one of the top defenders in world football and has been linked previously with the aforementioned English quartet.
