Real Madrid moved a step closer to the Spanish La Liga crown after beating Sevilla 3-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Real Madrid hosted Sevilla as the Spanish La Liga kicked off over the weekend. With Los Blancos getting knocked out of the Champions League after a dramatic penalty shootout against Bayern Munich, they turned their attention to the domestic title where they
command a 7-point lead over second-placed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604.
Real Madrid are currently enjoying a phenomenal season in terms of success in the Spanish La Liga. They managed to take over a team like Barcelona in the league, and command a significant lead over La Blaugrana, after beating them 1-2 at the Nou Camp.
Madrid had the chance to qualify for the UEFA Champions League final, but Munich were too resilient at the Bernabeu and won the match on penalties, with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-Ramos-c33096 being named as the culprit who cost Los Blancos the game after a horrendous miss from the
spot.
However, after the game against Sevilla, Ramos was content with Madrid’s performance during the season and told the press that he is proud of wearing the white jersey.
While speaking to the press, the Spanish defender was quoted as saying:
"Earning 200 victories with Real Madrid is important and I feel proud to play for this jersey," the 26-year-old enthused. "I'd like to do so for many more years.
Real Madrid went 10 points clear at the top of the Spanish La Liga, only to find Barcelona winning their weekend fixture and bringing the lead down to 7 points all over again. However, with only 3 games left to be played in the season, the title is almost
won by Madrid already.
Ramos did not talk about his missed penalty against Bayern Munich; in fact, he spoke about how Madrid clinched three important points against Sevilla and took an important step towards claiming the Spanish La Liga crown.
The Spaniard said:
"There is no time to feel sorry for oneself in football," the centre-half is quoted as saying by the club's official website. "And I have always felt the fans' support and they will always be in my heart.“
"We earned a rather important victory today and we must fight to win the league title, which is very important because it requires sacrifice throughout the entire season.

“We can also earn the title with great numbers, which would give us greater credit."
Real Madrid will be facing a stern test in the shape of Athletic Bilbao next week. However, with the league being the only competition they’re competing in, Jose Mourinho will play his strongest men in order to take the Spanish crown before the season ends.
