Real Madrid were brilliant throughout the pre-season friendly fixtures, and Ramos believes it is now time to begin the Spanish La Liga title defence.
Real Madrid were able to break Barcelona’s dominance in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 last season, as Mourinho guided them through to the Spanish La Liga glory.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-Ramos-c33096 played an integral part in helping his team with its 32nd La Liga trophy.
The Spanish defender is naturally a right full-back, but with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ricardo-Carvalho-c30973 injured, Ramos was made to play in the centre-back position.
Partnering up with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pepe-c29670, Ramos was able to form a deadly alliance at the back, and it was hard for other teams to penetrate through.
Moreover, with the type of attack which Madrid boasts, any defence will find it easy to cover, as the Spanish giants never fail to score a particular game.
Since Madrid have won the Spanish La Liga last season, they will be defending their title in the upcoming season and Ramos believes that his side is ready for the challenge and he can’t wait to start the title defence.
While speaking to the press, Ramos explained how Real Madrid have been in phenomenal form throughout the friendly fixtures, and they are now ready to defend their La Liga title.
Real Madrid’s arch-rivals, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604, are also flying high in their respective fixtures. With Tito Vilanova taking charge of the club after Josep Guardiola’s departure, Barcelona are yet again the favourites to win the Spanish La Liga.
While speaking about the title defence and the 5-1 thrashing which Madrid gave to AC Milan, Ramos said:
"We have to be thankful for that. It's notorious the way people react to what Real Madrid mean in the football world and we have to give thanks for that."
“I think this was a good game to tune up the team before the season. It will start with a title at stake [the Supercopa] against Barcelona. We already want La Liga to begin.”
“These tours are helpful because we can have some experiences as a team that we cannot have during the season.”
Real Madrid are going to start their season on August 18, as they take on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863 in their very first La Liga match.
