Serie A Breaking News: Fiorentina in trouble after Juan Manuel Vargas Injury before Sunday match against Palermo
The crucial match that could lead to control of the middle of the table in Serie A, is the match between Fiorentina and Palermo this Sunday. However Fiorentina will be cooling their nerves as they have lost the services of their prized left flanker Juan
Manuel Vargas.
The match at Fiorentina’s home this Sunday will be a crucial one as it would guarantee one team a position in the upper part of the table. This season there has been a surprising development in the Italian League as relatively new teams like Lazio, Chievo
Verona and Brescia are leading the race at the top.
At the moment the top of the table is acquired by Inter Milan who are also the defending champions of the league having lost just one match to Roma 1-0, who came and took the 2nd position in the league last season. Inter Milan has played 5 matches,
won 3, drawn 1 and lost 1 therefore presenting 10 points.
They are closely followed by Lazio who have similar stars for the 2nd position and are only let down by their goal difference of 2 in comparison to Nerazzurri’s 5. At the 3rd position is Chievo Verona, having played 5 matches, won 3,
drawn nil and lost 2, making 9 points for them.
At the 4th position is Brescia who have been promoted from the Second Division, Serie B where they acquired the 3rd position, and henceforth got promoted. At the moment they are at the 4th position with 3 wins and 2 losses
therefore 9 points with a goal difference of 0.
With such tough positioning where goal difference has to judge positions, every single point is crucial. Last season Fiorentina came at the 11th position and was one of the major disappointments in the league. On the other hand Palermo was quite
impressive, finishing at the 5th position.
Now Fiorentina will be calming their nerves over the absence of Juan Manuel Vargas in the match at Florence this Sunday. The Peruvian international is also a feature in the national team having made 25 appearances and scoring 3 goals.
Vargas started his career with Fiorentina in 2008 and since then he had played in 56 matches, scoring 8 goals.
The 26 year old winger picked up an injury this Friday when he left training having harmed himself.
Later on, club officials confirmed that the player had picked up an injury to his adductor muscle, however early reports have confirmed that the injury is not that serious in nature. Nonetheless further tests are being conducted by the medical team and the
time for which he will be out will be announced soon.
A slight possibility of the players inclusion on Sunday game has also been hinted, therefore Vargas is now on the hunt to recover before the Sunday fixture.
