Brescia put up an extraordinary performance in Serie B last term, finishing behind winners UC Lecce and second placed AC Cesena. The well earned promotion boosted the team's confidence for the upcoming season and the fans also had high expectations from
them.
The 2010-11 season however, has been a great disappointment for the Rondinelle, as they are currently languishing in the relegation zone. Despite starting the season decently - winning three out of their opening five fixtures -the Blues couldn’t keep up
their form and started to slip down the table. Recent stats show no improvements, but their home record is better than their away record. The Blues have won and lost two games each and drawn on one occasion in their last five games at home.
Brescia are the hosts tonight as Serie A giants Inter Milan visit the Stadio Mario Rigamonti. The Blues have a slim chance of causing an upset and even home advantage is unlikely to make much of a difference. Brescia goalkeeper Michele Arcari spoke to the
media ahead of the game.
He said, "We are ready to give an important display against Inter. We'll need a lot to get a positive result, among which luck will play an important part. We have to be fired up with the desire to do something important, putting all our heart into it.''
Inter Milan in pursuit of AC Milan
