Serie A Full Time Report: Inter Milan vs. Sampdoria

Inter Milan and Sampdoria shared the spoils at San Siro, as a hard fought match ended in a 1-1 draw.
This 1-1 draw earned Sampdoria a crucial one point in a very difficult away fixture. While for the Rafa Benitez’s men, it was their third draw of this season in the league as well as at home.
The second half had seen plenty of action and both goals also came in the last 45 minutes. There was no shortage of action since the start of second half.
The European champions dominated the early proceedings of the half and kept Sampdoria pegged back in their own half.
The first proper attack of the second also came from the home side. Just few minutes before the half hour mark, Inter Milan’s young sensation Coutinho fired a cross across the face of goal which eventually found Maicon on the right side.
Maicon tried to take a shot but Sampdoria defender; Zauri defended well and cleared the danger from his box.
However, it was the visiting side, Sampdoria who scored the first goal of the match. Just after the few minutes from the sixty minute mark, Sampdoria talismanic striker, Cassano, stole the ball off Chivu on the right side of the pitch
and crossed that ball to Stefano Guberti, who was perfectly positioned in the box to score from a volley.
Once again, it were the European Champions who conceded the first goal of the match. After the goal, the home side started to dominate the game by keeping possession.
Inter Milan started to attack more on more regular basis. Just few minutes after the first goal, Inter Milan’s Coutinho was passed by Cambiasso in the box. The young Brazilian took the shot from the close range but it was Sampdoria goalkeeper
who easily saved that effort.
Seven minutes later, Inter’s right back, Maicon chipped in a cross and Samuel Eto’o rose to head home but again Curci got their first to touch the ball to safety.
However, Inter Milan did not waste much time in getting on level terms, it was once again the Cameroonian striker who got them leveller. On eightieth minute mark, Coutinho ran into the box and played a cross to the near post which Samuel
Eto’o brought home. With that the score board became 1–1 at San Siro, giving the home crowd some relief.
After the equalizing goal, the home side started to get back in the game. Few minutes later, Wesley Sneijder played a brilliant cross toward Maicon who perfectly positioned inside the box. The Brazilian right back failed convert that superb
ball into a goal though he had a excellent chance to do so.
The match ended up as 1-1 draw, thanks once again to Samuel Eto’o who saved Inter Milan’s unbeaten streak of 50 home games. The five times consecutive Italian champions have not lost a single game at home since January 2009.
