The Palermo defender not only tackled the Italian striker but also successfully cleared the ball away to safety, in doing so, he bailed his peers out of trouble as the former A.C. Milan target man was looking dangerous on the ball just outside the Palermo
penalty area.
In the 48th minute of the match, Palermo took the lead once more. This time it was Miccoli, who worked his magic, after weaving his way past two defenders at the edge of the Fiorentina penalty area, the striker played the ball back for Nocerino,
who headed the ball past the diving Fiorentina goalkeeper, Arthur Boruc.
It was a fine display of quick feet by Miccoli, which really opened up space for Palermo inside the visitor’s penalty box.
In the 55th minute of the match, Fiorentina’s midfielder, Riccardo Montolivo, initiated an attacking move for the visiting team but his pass was intercepted by J. Kurtic.
Kurtic then switched the ball out wide to Pastore whose weak touch allowed the ball to roll out of play for a Fiorentina throw in.
In the 61st minute of the match, Palermo almost doubled their lead. Again, it was Miccoli, who was involved in the build-up play as the ambidextrous striker chipped the ball towards Nocerino, who let loose a spectacular volley, which was palmed
away by Boruc inside Fiorentina’s goal.
It was a fine save by the Polish international, who used all his acrobatic skill to keep his team within touching distance of the home side.

Against the run of play, in the 70th minute of the match, Fiorentina drew level once more thanks to a fine corner kick by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Riccardo-Montolivo-c31049.
The Italian playmaker whipped in a wonderfully lofted ball, which found the head of Camporese at the back post of Palermo’s goal. The centre back made no mistake with his tap in as the score line reached 2-2 at Stadio Renzo Barbera.
Disaster struck for Palermo in the 78th minute from being on level terms with Fiorentina, the home side tumbled to a 2-3 deficit as confusion inside the home team’s penalty area resulted in an own goal from Bovo. The defender tried to clear the
ball from Gilardinho but he mishit it past Palermo’s goalkeeper Sirigu.
Pushing for an equalizer of their own, Palermo conceded their fourth goal of the match on the counter attack as Fiorentina’s winger Ljajic pulled the ball back to Montolivo, who calmly dispatched the ball past Sirigu in the 88th minute of the
match just before the full time whistle.
At the final whistle, the score line rested at 2-4 to Fiorentina, who successfully claimed their first away victory of the season against Palermo due to some fine finishing by the likes of Montolivo and Gilardinho.
