Serie A Preview: AC Milan vs. Fiorentina

Two teams with entirely different aspirations go head to head on the weekend at the San Siro, but with the Scudetto on the line Milan would be the hungrier
side.
Fiorentina would be visiting AC Milan on matchday 31 fixture of the Serie A, to be played at the San Siro on Saturday.

The Rossoneri come into the match on the back of a draw against Vincenzo Montella’s Catania. The draw was a disappointing result for the Rossoneri, who lost ground on their
lead at the top of the table. The San Siro outfit will only be looking for a victory against the Viola, as they cannot afford to slip up with the Bianconeri breathing so close down their necks.

La Viola on the other hand have concerns of their own, as they are currently sitting in the 17th place of the Serie A standings and are embroiled in a relegation
battle. A loss would mean that they would be delving deeper into the relegation battle as they currently are only seven points adrift of the drop zone.

AC Milan
The Rossoneri recently crashed out of the Champions League in controversial manner, after http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 won the tie 3-1 on aggregate. However, now that the Champions League
is not on the plate of the Diavolo, they would be putting all of their attention on retaining the Scudetto. The San Siro stars might be fatigued from their travels across Europe, but it might not matter as the stakes will be high.

AC Milan have had a slump in recent rounds of the Serie A and have managed to give away their lead at the top of the table due to their recent draws against Catania and
Juventus.
The Diavolo are the highest scorers in the League and have the Lega’s top scorer in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zlatan-Ibrahimovic-c38029. Milan have only lost on one occasion at their home and that was against
their bitter rivals, Internazionale.
Fiorentina
The Viola have had an abysmal run of form of late which coincided with the injury to their talismanic striker, Stephan Jovetic. Their recent humiliation came at the hands
of the Bianconeri who were in ruthless form as they trounced the Viola 5-0 at the Juventus Arena.

Things are not looking good for the Artemio Franchi outfit in their Milanello tie, as their last victory at the San Siro dates back more than a decade. The victory came
courtesy of a brace by Enrico Chiesa in 2001.

Probable starting eleven:
Abbiati, Abate, Bonera, Mexes, Antonini, Aquilani, Muntari, Nocerino, Emanuelson, Ibrahimovic, Robinho

Delio Rossi would be hoping that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 hanging in the balance, there seems to be even lesser luck going in Rossi’s favour as
the manager has a few concerns up his sleeve. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Riccardo-Montolivo-c31049 is suspended from playing in the match.
Probable starting eleven: Boruc, Cassani, Natali, Nastasic, Pasqual, Machionni, Behrami, Olivera, Vargas, Lazzari, Jovetic
Players to Watch:
Zlatan Ibrahimovic (AC Milan)

The striker has been in lethal form and against weaker defences he has had a higher return. He is currently leading the Serie A scoring charts and has amassed 22 goals this
campaign.
Stephan Jovetic (Fiorentina)
The Montenegrin striker is the star player of Fiorentina and they would be looking towards him to give the creative edge needed to penetrate the Milanello defence.
Prediction:
La Viola’s miseries are set to continue as Milan would be looking to secure a victory to continue their momentum till the end of the season.
(Verdict: 3-1)
