Serie A Preview: Inter Milan – Juventus FC (Part 1)
The Inter Milan – Juventus ties are arguably the most anticipated matches in any Serie A calendar. The fixture is called the Derby d'Italia; a term coined by legendary Journalist Gianni Brera. Owing much to a history of controversial incidents,
the derby provides the audience with such tense yet breathtaking atmosphere make the match a true football wonder. Banners will be unfurled, Flares will be burnt and the crowd will chant in full force as the two titanic sides battle for supremacy.
Inter Leading the Charts

Inter made a slow start to the season as they drew against a lowly Bologna side on match day 1. The draw was however followed by three successive victories before Roma ended their winning streak at Stadio Olimpico thanks to a late Mirko Vucinic goal.
Inter bounced back from the loss in style as they hammered German Bundesliga outfit Werder Bremen 4 – 0 in the second round of UEFA Champions League group stage. Samuel Eto’o was the man of the moment yet again with a sublime hat-trick.
Inter is currently joint top of the Serie A with Lazio. Nerazzuri has an immense defensive record in Serie A with just three goals conceded so far. Backed up by a vocal San Siro crow, the reigning Italian Champions will be confident of picking up the three
points at home.
Mixed start for the Bianconeri
Juventus currently stand 9th in the league after five rounds of Serie A. Despite the huge positional difference, just three points separates the two sides. Following Juventus’ 4 – 0 thrashing of Udinese on match day three, many thought Juventus
had turned a corner and things would work for the best. However, a Pastore inspired Palermo brought the Bianconeri back to earth with a 3 – 1 trouncing at Stadio Olimpico in Turin.
Things have improved ever since as Juventus won an entertaining match against Cagliari by a 4 – 2 score line. Milos Krasic was the hat-trick hero for the Bianconeri on that day. Juventus also managed to come away from their UEFA Europa league tie against
Manchester City with a precious point.
Juventus’ has been impressive going forward as the Italian giants have scored an impressive 12 goals in the league so far. Their defence however, leaves a lot to be desired. Chiellini and Bonucci will have to be on their best to stop the in-form Samuel Eto’o.
