Serie A Preview: Juventus vs. Bologna – Juve to thrash the inconsistent Rossoblu
Juventus remain unbeaten at the new Juventus Arena
Juventus finished 7th last season in the Italian top flight, missing out on European football action for the second consecutive year. However, the team successfully revamped their squad during the summer transfer window and started the 2011/12
season with high hopes.
Juve have played two games in the Serie A thus far and have won both of them with much ease. The first game was played at the newly made Juventus Arena, where the Bianconeri thrashed Parma 4-1. In the second game, the Lady Killers won an easy game against
AC Siena 0-1. Now the Turin giants are looking forward to make it three back-to-back victories by stealing full points tonight against Bologna.
It is reckoned to be a fairly easy match for La Vecchia Signora but head coach, Antonio Conte, has alarmed his players to stay focused and take nothing for granted. During a press conference, the former Juve midfielder said:
"Nothing is easy, we are meeting a team that has zero points in the standings but there's nothing to take for granted and we have tried to prepare the game well, despite the short time available.''
Bologna desperate to find consistency
Bologna narrowly escaped relegation last season, finishing on the 16th spot in the league rankings, just six points clear of the relegation zone. The team was a disappointment throughout the season and posed no serious threat to any of the top
teams in the Italian top flight.
As expected, the 2011/12 season has not been much different for the Rossoblu and they have lost both their opening games in the Italian top tier. The team first fell to Fiorentina 2-0 and in the second game, lost 0-2 at home to Lecce. The lack of consistency
is becoming a problem for the recently appointed head coach, Pierpaolo Bisoli.
Bisoli was recently talking to the media where he commented on the upcoming game against the Turin giants. He requested the fans to be patient and support the team so that the players might regain the much needed confidence to start winning.
"We're playing against a big side, in a wonderful stadium. We need to gradually continue our work, with determination, and try to improve the situation. I've been through the game against Lecce six times. Nothing's gone in our favour; we've been through
the mill. The public's booing is understandable, but we've been panned by the critics after only 180 minutes. Patience is required.”
