Genoa 2-2 Parma – Saturday, 25th February, 2012
A late brace from Rodrigo Palacio inspired Genoa to scrape a point against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294 Donadoni’s men. It was a thrilling game for the football fans, albeit nerve wracking for the managers of the two teams.
Genoa played hosts to the Ducali at Stadio Luigi Ferraris. It was the visitors who took the lead within ten minutes into the match, thanks to Massimo Gobbi’s well drilled effort from 20 yards. The Grifoni
have had the worst defence in the Serie A this season, which was exposed once again when http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-Floccari-c33061 found space in the Rossoblu box to slot past helpless Sebastien Frey.
The Gialloblu continued to dominate the proceedings even in the second-half, as chances were hard to come by for Pasquale Marino’s men.
However, Genoa’s prayers got answered when their star man, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rodrigo-c31437 Palacio, decided to rise to the occasion. The Rossoblu striker scored his team’s opening goal, netting from a rebound in the 78th
minute. The Argentine left it late to complete his brace, pouncing on Cristobal Jorquera’s pass to seal a draw in the stoppage time for the Grifoni.
Parma defender, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alessandro-c4710 Lucarelli, was shown a straight red-card in the dying minutes of the match.
Pasquale Marino’s men now sit 13th in the Serie A standings, while Parma fall to the 14th place.
AC Milan 1-1 Juventus – Saturday, 25th February, 2012
In what was deemed as the most anticipated match of the week, there was a lot of drama and controversy. The match was played out at the San Siro, with Milan hosting Juventus for the round 25 match of the
league season.
Milan held the ascendancy for most of the match with Juventus making errors throughout the game. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Antonio-Nocerino-c6332,
who unleashed a speculative shot which whistled into the net to give Rossoneri the advantage.
Then came the moment of controversy, after Sulley Muntari’s effort from a Gigi Buffon save had clearly crossed the line before the Juve legend hooked it away. The referee adjudged the ball not to have crossed
the line with the Ghanaian not believing his luck.
Juventus had their moments, but Milan rode offensively in the match and continued to torment the Bianconeri defence. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alessandro-Matri-c4733 did score a goal later on in the second half, but the referee adjudged
it to be offside. The Italian replicated a similar effort three minutes later, and the flag stayed down this time to protect Juve’s unbeaten streak.
