Chievo 1-0 Cesena – Sunday, February 26th, 2012
Chievo entertained Cesena at Stadio Marc Antonio Bentegodi in Verona. The latest victory makes it two consecutive league wins for Chievo.
The game was marred by rough tackling, as the referee was kept extremely busy by the players. The official ended up giving seven yellow cards and a red-card, which goes someway to reflect on the indiscipline
involved in the match.
The match was not one to watch for an aesthetic minded fan, but the scrappy encounter was eventually won by Chievo. The goal came in the 78th minute of the match, courtesy Davide Moscardelli, who
finished with aplomb from Perparim Hetemaj’s cross.
The contest was Mario Beretta’s first game as the manager of the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dino-c11319 Manuzzi outfit, but he will not be pleased with the result.
Cagliari 1-2 Lecce – Sunday, 26th February, 2012
The Giallorossi travelled to Sant’Elia for their match day 25 game. Serse Cosmi’s side continued their efforts of staying in the top division, as they now remain only two points behind the drop zone.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Davide-c10638 Ballardini was hoping that his side will make their home advantage count, and despite looking the more threatening of the two teams, they still lost.
Salentini forward, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Luis-Muriel-c22767, has been in great form of late, and the young striker has consistently grown in stature. He demonstrated his prowess throughout the match and broke the deadlock minutes before
the end of the first-half. The striker made a scintillating run in the opposition box, and kept his cool to slot past the Cagliari goalkeeper.
The Rossoblu came back strongly in the second-half and went ahead thanks to Joaquin Larrivey’s penalty-kick. Nevertheless, Lecce were the more clinical of the two sides, finishing the game effectively after
an exchange of passes between their strikers led to Andrea Bertolacci’s winner.
Siena 4-1 Palermo – 26th February, 2012
The Tuscan outfit was brutal in their match against Palermo, and demolished the Rosanero with brilliant attacking game. The victory was made even sweeter, as the Bianconeri were playing at the Artemio Franchi
in front of their fans.
The visitors had the worst possible start to the game, as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Federico-Balzaretti-c13451 was shown a straight red-card in the 2nd minute, after the defender hauled down Mattia Destro being the last man.
Despite the sending-off, Palermo went ahead courtesy Igor Budan’s header in the 12th minute.
Siena came back strongly, and went rampant, scoring one goal then the other. The Robur went two goals up going into the break, as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Erjon-Bogdani-c12779 scored to make their numerical advantage count.
Any hopes of a Sicilian comeback were quashed at the start of the second-half, with the host’s finishing the match off with another two goals.
