Serie A leaders AC Milan want Barcelona’s Maxwell added to their ranks
The Serie A leaders, AC Milan are considering to bring in Brazilian left-back, Maxwell Scherrer Cabelino into their squad. The 29-year-old plays for the Spanish giants, Barcelona, who are currently leading the Spanish La Liga battle.
It is believed that the Rossoneri are not happy with the performance of their new recruits, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Urby-Emanuelson-c35731 and Didac Vila and therefore are in search of a new left-back who can easily and quickly fit in his role.
Maxwell does not get enough chances to start in Josep Guardiola’s team and therefore would consider making a move away from Camp Nou.
The Brazilian's agent Mino Raiola has confirmed that the Serie A leaders have been eyeing his client. Raiola was also involved in the transfer of Manchester City striker Robinho and Barcelona’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zlatan-Ibrahimovic-c38029.
The Rossoneri are also prepared to bring in the Olympique Marseille left-back, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Taye-Taiwo-c34728, but Milan would not have to fight hard to sign the 25-year-old as his contract with the French club is close to an end and hence Taiwo would be available on a free
transfer.
Maxwell joined Guardiola’s side in 2009 and since then, has managed to make 45 appearances in La Liga and 70 appearances in all competitions. The left-back has one goal under his belt.
AC Milan are currently on top of the Serie A table with 62 points and with nine games remaining in the season, Massimiliano Allegri’s side look all set to complete Serie A triumph.
On the other hand, Barcelona are also leading the La Liga flight with 75 points, with only Real Madrid being a possible threat, who are second with seventy points.
Milan would be hoping to complete the signing of the 29-year-old in the coming summer transfer window. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Maxwell-c25051’s inclusion in the Italian side would boost their defence and could increase their chances of providing a much tougher title challenge, next season.
AC Milan have already exited from this year’s UEFA Champions League after losing out to English Premier League side, Tottenham Hotspur. On the other hand, Barcelona have progressed through to the last-eight of the Champions League after knocking Arsenal,
out of the campaign.
