Defending Champions, A.C Milan, limped to their first win of the 2011/12 Serie A season as they defeated Cesena 1-0 in a hard fought contest at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Saturday, September 24, 2011.

The game got off to a blistering start for the hosts, as it took only five minutes for them to take the lead. Milan took a short corner from the left and Seedorf seemed to have swung in a cross in the box but the ball arched into the top corner of the goal and left everybody stunned to make it 1-0 for the Rossoneri.

The Seahorses had another fine opportunity to score but after finding himself in a great position to shoot, Mutu hit the side nettings with his effort. The visitors continued to apply the pressure and looked extremely dangerous going forward. Mutu forced another fantastic save from the Milan goalkeeper, as he danced past two defenders before unleashing a powerful strike for the keeper to save.
The hosts came close to scoring with a chance in the 24th minute of the game; the goal-scorer, Seedorf sliced open the visiting defence with a lovely pass for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mario-Yepes-c24052 but the defender made mess of an excellent move and Cesena cleared the danger.

Milan started to maintain their dominance in the game and had 65% share of the possession. The Italian Champions came close to doubling their tally for the evening just before the half-time whistle. The visitors went into the break with a deserved lead but the visitors could have done better with their finishing.
