Serie A match report: A.C Milan 4-1 Parma: Nocerino hat-trick downs the visitors: 1st half report
A hat-trick from summer signing, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Antonio-Nocerino-c6332, helped A.C Milan beat Parma 4-1 at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Wednesday, October 26, 2011.
Milan continued their impressive form and cruised to their third consecutive victory in the league. The Italian Champions move to the 5th spot in the league table and drift the league leaders, Juventus, by just two points.
Massimiliano Allegri made several changes to his starting line-up from the 4-3 win over Lecce over the weekend. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zlatan-Ibrahimovic-c38029 and Antonio Cassano continued to start upfront in a 4-4-2 setup.
On the other hand, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Franco-c14050 Colomba also made a few changes to his team from the 2-1 defeat at the hands of Atalanta recently.
The hosts started the game at a rapid pace and looked to take the advantage in the opening minutes. Neither of the two teams could threaten the opposition goal in the opening 10 minutes. The first real goal-scoring opportunity
fell for the visitors in the 12th minute. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sebastian-Giovinco-c32724 surged forward in the Milan box and unleashed a powerful shot but it went wide of the goal.
Couple of minutes later, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Taye-Taiwo-c34728 made a blistering run from the left-flank and played a lovely cross-c*m shot but it went inches wide of the far post.
Both teams played on equal footing in the opening few minutes but the host’s dominated the majority of possession.
The Rossoneri broke the deadlock just on the half hour mark. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alberto-Aquilani-c4313 played a lovely cross-field pass to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who crossed it inside the box for Nocerino and the former Palermo star slipped his shot past
the goalkeeper to make it 1-0 for Milan.
Couple of minutes later, Nocerino doubled his and the team’s tally for the evening with a thunderous strike from long range. The attacking midfielder chested down a long pass before thumping a powerful volley into the top corner
to make it 2-0 for his team.
The visiting fans were stunned into silence as Milan looked to add another before the half-time whistle. The host’s could have scored their third goal of the evening but http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Antonio-Cassano-c6302 found himself in an offside position after
his teammate delayed the pass.
The Ducali came close to pulling one goal back in the 41st minute. The striker, Jaime Valdes, tried an ambitious effort from long range but it flew whiskers over the bar.
The last opportunity of the half fell for Milan, as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ignazio-Abate-c16673 made a lovely run from the right flank before laying the ball into the path of Ibrahimovic, who volleyed a powerful shot centimetres wide of the goal.
Milan were clearly the better of the two sides in the first 45 minutes and deserved to go into the break two goals up.
