A.S Roma edged past Parma 1-0 to register their first win of the 2011/12 Serie A season at the Stadio Ennio Tardini on September 25, 2011.
Pablo Osvaldo’s second half strike proved to be the difference between the two sides as the victory takes the Giallorossi to 11th spot in the league table.

On the other hand, Luis Enrique made three changes to his starting line-up from the 1-1 draw against Siena during the midweek. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marco-Borriello-c23672
respectively.
The visitors almost got the game off to a perfect start as Jose Angel made a fine run from the left flank before unleashing a vicious strike but it went whiskers over the bar. The Giallorossi kept the early pressure and sprayed
some lovely passes in the opening minutes.
Parma had their first real goal-scoring opportunity in the 12th minute of the game; Giovinco’s delivery from the corner kick was met by a header from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-Floccari-c33061 but the ball whistled centimetres over the bar. That
was a great opportunity to take the lead.
The game entered into a barren period in the middle stages of the first half as neither of the two teams could dominate the possession.
Giovinco came close to scoring in the 28th minute, as he let fly a powerful strike from the edge of the penalty area but http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Bogdan-Lobont-c7753 made a nice save to deny the former Juventus star. After a decent start to the game,
the visitors failed to create any threatening scoring opportunity and did not test the host goalkeeper on a single occasion.
Simon Kjaer picked up the first booking of the game for a late tackle on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Francesco-Modesto-c13926 in the 35th minute.
Roma had their best opportunity of the game to score in the 39th minute, as Parma goalkeeper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Antonio-Mirante-c6330 fumbled Francesco Totti’s low drive from inside the box and the ball rebounded off the post to fall into the
path of Osvaldo, whose follow up effort was saved by the goalkeeper. That was the best opportunity of the game so far and the former Espanyol star should have done much better with his effort.
Minutes before the half-time whistle, Kjaer played another foul on a Parma player and was lucky to escape a second booking. Both teams went into the break goalless and in a hope to improve on their finishing in the second period.
