Roma made a change during the break as Burdisso replaced Kjaer, who was extremely lucky not to have been sent off before the half-time whistle.
Minutes after the resumption, Rosi and Heinze clashed heads after going for a clearance and the game was stopped as the full-back needed some treatment. Rosi looked in extreme pain with a neck injury and the stretcher was on to
take him, but he showed great courage to stay on.
Immediately after the resumption from his injury, Rossi made a huge impact to assist Osvaldo to give Roma the lead in the 50th minute. The full-back whipped in a perfect cross from the right flank and Osvaldo clinically
headed into the bottom right corner to make it 1-0 for the visitors.
Roma oozed with confidence after the goal and had a decent opportunity to double their advantage almost immediately. Borini found himself in a lovely position to meet the cross from the left but made a mess with his finishing and
the ball sailed to into the stands for a goal-kick.
The Giallorossi had another chance to double their advantage just before the hour mark but Heinze nodded his header over the bar from Totti’s corner-kick. Minutes later, the goal-scorer, Osvaldo whisked past two defenders and saw
himself in a great scoring position but drifted his shot away from the far post.
The hosts made their first change in the 62nd minute, as Jadid replaced Galloppo in the midfield.
