I've read all 13 of the novels, but I'm confused. What's in the sugar bowl and which Beatrice are they talking about? Who survived the fire in the Baudelaire's mansion. Plus, when did this take place? What I mean is, what year or time zone did it take place in? Thanks!!!

  1. ...It's actually called A Series of Unfortunate Events...

You never find out what's in the sugar bowl. Violet, Klaus and Sunny survived the fire, their mother's name was Beatrice and she's the one who died, so they named the new baby after their mom. I don't think we ever really find out when it takes place.

You should also try reading The Beatrice Letters, it's pretty good!

  2. omg the series was so pointless, it didn't tie up even one loose end in the last book. I hated it so much. But I guess it is life; you never do get every answer you want.

The Beatrice Letters is about like I think 13 years later Beatrice (The baby, Kit's baby) is writing to Lemony Snicket and asking where Voilet, Clause, and Sunny are. They went missing.

So they do make it back to the main land at the end of the novel and grow up but that is just about everything that gets answered in the series, and they make you pay more just to learn that they survived and went missing while working for VFD

  3. You obviously didn't much attention to the title while you read the books. It's called Series of Unfortunate Events.

  4. No one knows the answer. Maybe it should have been called a series of Confusing events.

The sugar bowl contained something importan to VFD or sugar. Beatrice was a girl who died and Lemony Snicket was in love with her.

It took place in a imaginary world similar to Earth.
