Serious Q for Vodka drinkers...?

...it seems that towards the end of a bottle the Vodka tastes sweeter.

Is it that the sugars settle between bouts of shots, or ???

Have you experienced this?

Should we be shaking the bottle daily?

Your thoughts, comments, and advice are appreciated as we dislike like the sugary flavor.

Thanks!

  1. That is strange i never experience that.  IN 80 proof vodka there is no sugar  or carbs. Yes i know vodka and potatoes but take a look at the nutritional facts.  http://www.nutritiondata.com/facts/bever...

Maybe you should switch the brand.

  2. Probably what is happening is over time the vodka is evaporating a bit which would surely change the taste though I've never noticed this myself.  Your palate may be more sensitive than mine.

  3. Vodka is made from potatoes. Potatoes are available in mashed, sauteed, fried, deep fried, cross cut or julienned, au grautin, baked, and chocolate. I like potatoes, esp. the little red ones. In Bolivia they dehydrated potatoes by leaving them in the sun during the day and the cold Andean nights. They are like potato jerky. They are often served with llama cheese. They taste absolutely horrible.

I hope this answers your question.

  4. ummm....never experienced this...does it always happen or was it just one bottle....?? cause if it was only one bottle this happened on then mabey it was a deffected bottle...but other than that i really dont know why it is doin that...try another brand of vodka and see if it changes that...my favoritevodkas are smirnoff vodka and absolut vodka....!!!

  5. most likely the starches have broken down into sugars over time...

and dont drink out of the bottle...any backwash will allow saliva to hasten the change.
