Question:

Serious Question Regarding Souls (from a Christian point of view)?

Before I start, let me re-iterate the fact that I'm Christian, totally 100%.

I don't have time for people telling me that my beliefs are stupid. If you don't agree with them, please respect them and explain yours in a civilised manner.

I have always believed that those who have never had the chance to know the Lord (i.e. those who are severly disabled, died as an infant, or those who live abroad and have never known of Him) will automatically go to Heaven as they know no better.

However, and this is where you may think I'm being stupid, but I'm not, what does this mean regarding animals? I would like to think that they have souls, and I would like to think that my precious dogs are waiting for me in Heaven. I can't understand how they can just be nothing. I don't believe it for humans, and have a hard time imagining it for animals. My dog had a personality, she had feelings and emotions, she frequently danced with my mum to worship songs, but that's beyond the point!

I'm just asking what your opinion is on animals (namely dogs) and Heaven?

  1. heaven is filled with love you would not grieve for your dog.you would have

an elevated understanding of life.Saying that, it is heaven so there may be a place for you to be reunited with your pets.

  2. I do not believe that people who have never heard of Jesus will automatically go to Heaven but I believe that some of them will do so. The bible says that man is without excuse in NOT believing in Him (God) because His very existence is around us in all we see in nature.

If people have never heard of Jesus and also choose to say there is no God I believe they will go to h**l.

If people have never heard of Jesus but believe that there must be a divine Creator of some kind but would not refer to Him in the way we do because of lack of teaching then I believe that they will be judged on the way they have lived their lives, things such as being good to others, kind, gentle, honest etc.

These are not attributes that automatically get someone to Heaven but, for people who have never heard of Jesus and, therefore, cannot possibly have accepted that He died for their sins, they will count with God.  We will only know who is there when we get there ourselves.

As for animals, I don't know of anywhere in the bible that even hints that animals have a soul so I tend to think they will not be there. That is just my personal opinion though.

  3. hum, well it seems you believe it anyway. you don't want an straight answer, but one that agrees with the way you see things. Best wishes...and have a great day.

  4. Gen 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Gen 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Genesis 1 explains God said let US create man in OUR image.

Genesis 2 shows how man is created from the dust (flesh)

God breathed life into him (spirit)

and man became a living soul (soul)

God created man above the animals more than flesh which returns to dust but with an eternal spirit

God is Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

The same as you are flesh, spirit and soul.

Each are you and all are one.

I'm sure you have strong affections for your pets but pets do not have eternal spirits they were not created in the image of God.

Pets are not under law and are not freed from sin by Christ.

Of course they were never under law and did not sin.

No doggies do not have eternal spirits.

Heaven is paradise so if you  still want your pet... who's to say you can't have it.

  5. Totally 100%?

    At least you didn't say,"110%".

That would have got right up my nose!!

  6. totally 100%??? Its a good thing you werent 99.999% then you would be an enlightened agnostic. Look we ARE animals, this notion we have dominion over them, and they are souless is just not right. This comes from a book written thousands of years before intellect ever started to develope. Think about it.
