  1. Unfourtonately no.  The force of an airbag can kill a child (or cause sever head trauma) upon impact.  Air bags are big enough to reach the passenger who is sitting with the seat all the way back, and because your child would be in a carseat they would be sitting closer than you realize.  You are placing your child at serious risk of injury and death if you did this, not to mention there is no safe way to secure a carseat to a front seat (there is no latch system in the front and no teather)...and your child is not old enough or weighs enough (unless he/she weighs more than 40lbs) to be in a booster seat yet.

In some states (North Carolina off the top of my head) IT IS illegal to put your child in the front seat before they are 8 or 80lbs.

I would check with your local sheriff's department to check the laws in your state if you are h**l bent on putting your child in the front seat...but I personally would not do it...with all the data out there right now proving it to be dangerous how could you live with yourself putting your child in danger like that...what if the worse happened and you got in an accident and the air bag saved you and killed your child?

  2. i wouldn't the airbag is very powerful and read it can cause serous injury or even death

  3. No it is illegal and very unsafe, try this site it is for all states.............

  4. If you have a backseat, then it is illegal in most places.  It is unsafe in all areas!

  5. google it

  6. Please do not put your child in the front seat of the car.

My sister lost her oldest son this way, he complained constantly about being in the back, so she thought it would be find to have him in the front seat, she even went and had the airbag disabled...

then a drunk driver hit them head on in the middle of the afternoon on the way back from the grocery store.

now she misses his complaining and would give the world to hear it again.

Children belong in the back seat.

  7. Hi. I have a 6, 4 and a 2 year old. Carseat in the front is a fine because of the dangers of a airbag. And the age of kids when they are old enough to be in the front seat and 2/12 is not safe.

  8. The safest place for the child is in the rear behind the passenger seat. Even in a car seat babies and toddlers are safer in the rear. I think a child has to be over 10 to sit in the front?

My 4 and 7 year olds are always always in the back, the 11 year old sits in the front (if hubby not with me)

  9. if for some reason you feel the need to put her car seat in the front take it to the dealer and have them disable the air bag.  an airbag deployment can kill her.

  10. I'm sure that someone will know for sure, but I'm pretty sure no you can not.
