  1. she ran into some hard times.  She will probably pull out of them.  Chinchilla care really isn't that much,  I spend about 20 a month and currently i have 4 (caring for a couple for a friend)  Chinchillas have very unique personalities.  I don't think you should convince her to give up the chinchilla, when she pulls out of these times she will be very sad over the loss of the animal.  I go through hard times when my chinchilla is no longer spoiled, as long as she is feeding her, giving her fresh water, and cleaning her cage, she can manage a little while without special treats.  Would you ever be able to give up your rodents?

  2. Go to an animal shelter and find a kind person, let her know if she can't keep up with Chinny, she might get sick and the best thing to do is give her up.

I really don't like the decision though. Maybe she can have a garage sale and sell things she doesn't use anymore and be able to keep her.

To the person above: Chinchillas are not dogs.

  3. how expensive can that dog be? and if shes having THAT much trouble, put a pic and a detailed description and go to some vets offices, ask if you can post them up. afterall only pet lovers got to the vet.

but really how much do they eat? maybe 10-15 bucks a month of food, maybe 30 bucks i suppose a month if it doesnt need to see the vet?...

  4. Well, make sure the chinchilla goes to a good home.

If she really cant afford the vet bills, food, litter and daily upkeep it may be a good idea.
