I'm 24 weeks pregnant and I every now and then i get the worst pains in my lower back down to my legs. Usually it's only on one side but tonight it was on both and it was so bad I could hardly walk. Is this just a sciatic nerve thing?

  1. Quite possibly, you should see a physio if you can I have 2 slipped discs in my back and they had been pinching nerves, I've seen a physio 3 times and already the nerve pinching has just about stopped. When you are pregnant you're muscles and ligaments go soft and don't hold everything together like they normally do (which is why my discs are playing up now and not before). Definately see a physio though if you can as there are certain exercises you can do to help and movements you should avoid. They will be able to give you a definite diagnosis also as it may be something else.

  2. i had the same thing but just on the one side and it was sciatica although this was later on in the pregnancy when i was getting pretty big!

it should be fine but if u are worried just get the dr to check it out.

  3. Sounds to me like sciatica.  It can be extremely painful and can cause difficulty walking, very common during pregnancy.
