Serious philosophical question...?

I heard this on a Martin Lawrence stand up routine and he actually made me wonder. Here it is:

What was the deal with the scarecrow, tin man and cowardly lion in the Wizard of Oz? They spent the whole movie looking for a heart, courage and a brain. None of them are looking for some p***y and they're skipping down the street with a b*tch.

  1. Man what's up with ML?..He should have known they were all somewhere over the rainbow...

  2. I once saw a porno version of the Wizard of Oz.

The lion was looking for straight s*x

The Tin man was looking for oral

And the Scarecrow was looking for Anal.

What a final scene and big respect to Dorothy, but don't ask about Toto, lmao.

  3. lol

i guess they have their priorities messed

  4. L. Frank Baum joined the Theosophical Society in 1896.

http://www.reversespins.com/wizardofoz.h... presents some of his likely symbolism.

Also, Baum was a pro-precious-metals advocate, and his "yellow brick road" and "oz" (as in "oz of gold") are believed to represent that.

  5. Dorothy had it goin' on!

  6. The scare crow needed a brain -so he didn't think about it!

The tin man need a heart- he didn't have the heart for it

The lion need courage- obviously he was scared of it

  8. In response to your serious philosophical question, the entire tale of the journey to the great and renowned wizard of oz simply proposes that man does not live to gain God* but the living and the seeking gains man God*. There is a subtle difference.

A life lived well learning with supplicated spirit and a pious heart will gain man wisdom and truth, an understanding of his world whereby he no longer will require the God religion instils that he seek as his salvation, rather he gains liberation and his release from attachment to the material world and ascension into the universal spiritual by the shedding of his fears and dependency.

It depicts God as a bit clownish and overawed by the mechanisations of his creation. The journey to his abode is riddled with good forces and the demonic alike. Mans lots is to nurture and be governed by the good, and revile and avoid if not annihilate the bad.

It’s a beautiful tale, the meaning of which is lost on the modern day populace fed upon a diet of meaningless unsubstantive media garbiage.

  9. I don't quite think that The Wizard Of Oz would be quite the classic it is today Ha! :-)

  10. Hmmmm, that would have made for an interesting children's story!
