  1. "When they are really into it"......if not why waste the money....it would not matter what age they are but the younger the better....but the main thing would be "that they be into it"....at 60 soon to be 61, I still think that I am young enough to "get into it"....just trying to make time(time means enough money) for me and thus be able to take time off to do it totally.....it is really an easy game it is just the "thinking" part that gets me in trouble.....my boy is 9 and my little girl is 7....but they are not into it so I do not push them!......yep! you read right at 60+ I am still with kids!!!

  2. The first time I played pool(not professionally) I was 10 or 11 years of age. It's true that I lost almost every game, but the experience sure helped. I don't play professionally(I never did), but I still have fun.

  3. I think he should start whenever he decides he's really into it (and can reach the table and everything, although I know they can stand on a ramp or whatever). I think having lessons (from a certified instructor) is a great idea for anyone, and having pool become a part of you early could be a step towards greatness.

  4. i don't think they should.

if the child is serious just let them play when ever.

i think being self tought in pool has been better for me than being told by someone to do something a specific way. but also maybe some tips to help them progress.

  5. I think a kid skould give himself a chance at school first,

they can play for recreation for a while, doing that they can pick up some tips on how to play, or they can go completely in the opposite direction. If you want the kid to learn the right way, you can start lessons early with him, but who is to say that the guy who's teaching him is top . pro material, or someone who can talk some good pool.

18 would be my answer for serious lessons, because he

is old enough to decide for himself, and can't blame anyone later, for getting him into it.

I always believed that taking other lessons, like self defense courses, are always good for him, keeping him balanced and in good shape, He skould be versatile, don't hang around pool halls all day, balance your life with other things.

You know that some of the characters we met in pool halls we wouldn;t want our sister going out with!.
