  1. No.

In a SENSE, the world as I knew it in 1965 came to an end -- it's different in many ways.

No, we aren't totally, uh, f-word-ed.

If you only knew how long people have been saying the end is immanent -- still here!

  2. If we knew, we probably wouldn't tell you.

  3. People have been predicting the end of civilization for many.many years . It hasn´t happened yet and is unlikely to do so in the foreseeable future.

  4. The world as we know it is coming to an end soon, but the world isn't. It would be good to plan for the depression though. All things come and go. It isn't the end. Just a transformation into something new. Think of the phoenix, which rises from the flames transformed.

  6. no --not at all

  7. The world as we know it can only be reasonably predicted about two weeks in advance.  after that, the world as we know it has ended and a whole new world begins.

Seriously though, don't stress.  keep a towel handy and remember "Don't Panic!"

Things change, empires rise and fall, but for the common man, it all pretty much just keeps going at pretty much the same pace.  just dont do anything foolish like jump off a roof, horde food, or watch cable news.  And for God Sakes DONT pay attention to anything you read on the internet!

    This too shall pass

  8. The society in which we live constantly changes and so much goes unrecognised as changed until you look back at life in another decade.  There can be big changes, absolutely.  Nuclear war would certainly do it.  Whether it will happen or not I do not know.  I hope not.

Greed is not guided by the basic accepted standard morals, greed is one of the big enemies of our existence and affects every culture, all of us.

  9. It depends on what definition of 'world' you are refering.  As far as the Macrocasm including all of the universe, then no.  It is most definitely not.

If you are talking astronomically as a planet, then yes and no.  they say that we will be swallowed up by our star eventually.  In the history of the universe this will happen relatively soon.  In our own history lines, it won't be.  It will be hundreds of thousands or even millions of years from now before that happens.

However, what I think you are refering to is the world as we know it today.  Our societies are constantly evolving and changing.  So, really the word of the 80's did end, but there is no way of pointing out exactly when that happened because change is a constant.

If we do fall into a depression, or have a major disaster, then there will just be a glitch in our world.  Some scientist believe that Yellowstone's super volcano will go off within the next 50,000 years.  That would be a greater glitch than the two I've mentioned, but life will find a way.  Humans have survived one in the past.

As for what we are use to in life economically, this has a greater chance of glitching our lives at the moment.  It is already have\ing effects in other countries.  People are starting to starve because of the oil issue...or at least more so now.  If we do go into a depression, we will have to change the way in which we live.  People will have to move closer to their work.  More people may own farms.  The whole dynamic of the country will change.

As for nuclear.  Chances are that there won't be a nuclear crisis.  However, it is not set in stone.  Even then, people will survive.  They'll find a way to adapt.

So, I think we are only a little f*****, as you put it.

  10. Yes, the end will come.  When that time will occur, no one really knows for sure.  God of course knows but, it is his secret.

  11. The world is ALWAYS changing.  In the 1970s during the fuel crisis and the emergence of global terrorism, people were thinking the same way.  There is a business cycle in modern, captialist countries that goes through periods of strength and weakness.  The economy was strong in the 80's, then there was a recession.  Same thing when the tech bubble burst in the late 90s.  Our economy has been strong for a long time, so it is only natural that things will experience a downturn for a while now.  This is the best time to invest now that prices are suppressed.  America recovered from the Great Depression to become the most powerful country in the world, so it's not all gloom and doom.
