  1. There are lots of things that could be causing your gas.  Do you drink lots of diet soda, or use sweeteners?  They can cause gas.  Also, I know you said it smells - have you been eating lots of chocolate?  Those always are the worse - around our house they are known as the "sweet farts". Gross!   Anyway - drink lots of water, maybe you have some constipation.

  2. Analyze your diet.  There are several foods or combinations of foods that can give you gas.  Some people are more sensitive to that than others.

For example beans are famous for causing gas but if you rinse your beans carefully (if you use canned beans) or if you cook your beans in many changes of water then you are getting rid of most of the water soluble enzyme that causes gas and this can make a big difference.

If altering your diet / food preparation doesn't work for you then there are commercial products available that will help ease the gas.  However thats a short term solution, I would focus on diet.  I wouldn't want to be dependent on having to take a pill all the time.

If its still a problem after you try some dietary changes, try to get some professional advice.

  3. The worst offenders are garlic, onions, cucumbers, and peppers...if you have a lot of these in your diet, try cutting back on them.  Broccoli, cauliflower and cabbage will do this to you also.

  4. Ask yourself what have you being eating? Thingswith lots of sugar.? That will give you constant very smelly gas. Also anything with a lot of fiber in it like whole grains, legumes, beans. You don't need to go to

a doctor this is strictly dietary. You can do a couple of things. get

yourself some Beano at the drugstore. It really does work and you

take it before meals. It is not just for beans. Also start eating a diet

that is low in fibre and then add things in graduately. This why you can see what triggers the gas and avoid it.

  5. Hold it until you get outside

  6. Have you changed something in your diet? Something new you've been eating daily/more of? I've given you a site with all you will ever want to know.

Dairy products and whipped foods (potatoes, shakes, whip cream..) are known for causing gas.

  7. It just depends, it could be anywhere from your diet to G.I. Tract problems.....but it's most likely your diet.....certain foods can affect the smells. Seriously.

  8. Okay - I' a mom, so let me run this through my mom filter:

    1. Eating more junk food than "real" food?  this includes fried foods (junk, that is).

2.Not getting enough fiber?  Try quick-cooking oatmal in the mornings for a week - could knock it flat.

3.On a new medicine? If so call your doctor.

    4.Not getting enough exercise?

5.Have pain or diarreah w/this? CALL you doctor and TELL them on the phone what is happening so they don't put you off.

    Good Luck from Someone's Mom.

  9. There are so many things that can cause gas and I'm sure you heard about most off them. You need to start making notes of what you are eating and drinking when this build up of gas begins, and try the process of elimination. Some medications can also cause gas. You might try taking a laxative to really clean you out, drinks lots of water and begin from there with the note taking of what you are ingesting. If nothing you can figure out, because I know that would be very embarrassing, It certainly wouldn't be stupid to see your Doctor. Don't worry about what others think or say because they are not in the same predicament, they shouldn't say anything like judge you until they have walked in your shoes. I truly hope you find the problem young lady and it never returns.
