Question:

Serious question for McCain supporters?

I keep hearing that Obama just talks about Hope and Change with nothing to back it up. Yet he has given specifics about what he intends to do in speeches and on his website and in the many debates he had. But what positions does McCain have that are different than Bush that makes you want to vote for him? And please....intelligent answers only. None of this "Obama is a muslim or racist or communist" BS.

  1. being an Illinois resident I know Obama and believe me he is a phony. Chicago style politics is all he has to offer.

  2. Obama talks of "change" and what he wants to do but NEVER gives a strategic plan. He doesn't care about change if he did he would LISTEN to the 18 MILLION people who voted for Hillary and put her on the ticket. Then he selects an old school Washington Dem (Biden) who clearly knows nothing of reform or so called change. Disgusting.

  3. McCain is a MODERATE as opposed to Obama who is a left wing party hack. McCain earned the nickname Maverick because he votes his conscience rather than the party line and often (gasp) COOPERATES with the democrats to get things done in a contentious, partisan congress. Bush ran as a hard line conservative.

Obama has been chanting "change" to his followers for months and then he takes Joe "status quo" Biden as his running mate! This guy is the poster boy for Business as Usual in Washington! Besides, "change" has been used as a buzzword by every liberal democrat in the past 100 years including Carter, remember "Stagflation" and double digit interest rates?

The congress currently controlled by democrats have the lowest aproval rating in history. They have spent us into the poor house. Bush's folly was not vetoing every piece of pork laden legislation that came to his desk, but he was so worried they would not cooperate with the war spending that he kissed their butts.

The last time there was a balanced budget was DESPITE Clinton a republican controlled congress fought to get it done. They went so far as to shut down the federal government to do it (thanks Newt). How does that compare to Nasty Pilosi and Harry Reid walking off the floor and turning out the lights to go on vacation instead of doing the job they are handsomely paid to do?

Obama talks of huge government expansion to accomplish his goals but denies raising taxes to anyone making less than 250k. This is impossible. His senate voting record shows him supporting tax increases on those making 42k and above (look it up, it's easy to find because he only has 146 days experience). Obamas corporate taxes will be passed on directly to the consumer, if not they will drive the businesses away.

Obama is a pie-in-the-sky candidate that has no substance and no coherent plan.

  4. How about Obama has already said he is going to raise my taxes.

I make enough that  he is going to raise my taxes.  I don't need that kind of change.  I don't want to pay for other people's programs.

I want a candidate that isn't going to shovel that much change on to me.

  5. It's so sad that people cannot do their own research and find out what they need to know by using their search engines!  The answers to your question is right at your fingertips, my friend!  Make use of your resources and stop relying on ppl on Y!A to supply the answers you are demanding so eagerly!  If you are critical of others, than find it yourself...You will be so much more happier, my friend!  I, too, am so tired of this BS.

  6. Bush is unpopular with people for obvious reasons I get it.... However it's unfair to bash him on his economic policies...Markets regulate themselves and it's the government's job to not involved and let it correct itself eventually.  Prices are high people stop buying stuff and demand lowers and prices drop. etc......

  7. Hope and change are catchy platitudes, but it is nothing more than big govt.  Besides, I don´t believe a word he says.

  8. McCain's issue page link is below.  Yes, it's different enough to mention some differences ... and similar enough that he's still a Republican.  Had you mentioned some Obama specifics in your question, I might have mentioned some McCain specifics in my answer.

  9. Well, I think some of us McCain supporters would like to see a number of Bush's current policies to be continued:

    Win in Iraq

    Fight terrorism

    Make the tax cuts permanent

Continue to bring Int'l pressure on Iran and North Korea

  10. never look for intelligent answers on an internet message board !!!!!!!!!

  11. McCain was the first one to criticize the president on his execution of the war in Iraq. He called for a troop surge a year before Bush finally did it and it proved successful. He has also been an outspoken critic of many spending bills and especially earmarks.

But ask yourself this question - what positions does Obama hold that are not the same positions the democrats have been promising for years? It's the same stuff - government control of health care, government control of education, government control of energy, raise taxes on the wealthy and the evil corporations and redistribute the money to the middle class and poor. Is he really different or are you just supporting him because he is the democrat nominee?

  12. I'm from Chicago and Obama is the real deal.

    McCain offers nothing but criticism.

  13. Dyna Flow you didn't answer his question. I'll answer it McCain doesn't have anything different then Bush.

  14. I love the saying "The character of a man is measured by what he stands for when no one is looking".

I want to see how Obama united parties when no one was looking. How he chose for his friends and mentors when no one was looking. What changes or challenges he made towards his own party, when no one was looking What bills he proposed and voted on when no one was looking.

I know what McCain has stood for, and Biden for that matter, because they have a record. If you want to run this country as president, I want evidence and historical fact of how that person operated when no one was looking.

  15. They can't do that because bottom line, He is McSame.

  16. When has Obama "given specifics about what he intends to do in speeches"?  I watch A TON of news and ANYTHING I can on politics.  In his acceptance speech, a great example, he TALKED about what he was going to do but NEVER HOW.

"In 10 years America will be free of foreign oil"  How is this going to happen?  What's his plan?  He certainly didn't explain.

He talks about programs but NEVER gives specifics.

Hillary AT LEAST said during debates, "When I'm President I will... A.  B.  C...."  While I totally disagreed with her politics AT LEAST she had a plan!

McCain is even running commercials where Hillary AND Biden MAKE THIS SAME POINT - THEIR WORDS!

As for his website, its all "political speak".  For instance, at Saddleback he was asked "What is marriage"?  Obama's answer?  Marriage is between a man and a woman.  So that's how Obama feels is it?  Hmmm, for some reason, I don't think so!

  17. LOL, I love how that first answer just proves your point.

Don't hold your breath, I've asked this question several times before. List McCain's accomplishments in the Senate. List what he stands for that's different from Bush. Nobody knows off the top of their head. Eventually someone will feel bad that no conservatives have responded, and will just copy/paste something from google.

  18. Care to post a few of those specifics I have not heard any Yahoo has tough me to never trust web sites

  19. but those are serious points to most of us that love our way of life..i dont want a man who self proclaims that he is the messiah to take my rights away..our country was founded on that...a free country..i also dont think i should help any other people regardless of skin color take a free ride on my back...we work for what we have get off your *** and work and perhaps you too wont have to get welfare..but because its so easy....why shouldnt we all be on it? thats the reason..i dont like lazy ungratful people who feel i owe them something because they have five kids no man in sight all kids who have no clue who their daddies are....stop the circle...get a job...stop having kids to get paid..because i dont owe you a dime..you make your bed you deal with the issues that result...not me or any other taxpayer

  20. Obama has copied all his stuff and flip-flopped on the issues.
