  1. We can't just withdraw the troops we have to make sure the Iraqi government can handle the mess we have left behind first. Then we have to get rid of the Bush tax cuts for the rich.

  2. Steve, I have an assignment for you

Go look at the federal budget; you have no idea what you are talking abour

  3. the government you have now does not have one.

    Republicans will continue the war...

    you dollar is worthless.

and your country is financial ruin...

sad ...you were once a great nation...

  4. I would like to know is where is the necessary cannon fodder going to be coming from?

The military is already stretched to the breaking point.

  5. The right wing doesn't want to address this until after McCain is elected.  Until then, we will continue to borrow money from China and basically will turn over to it most of the discretionary powers of our government.  So, if any chinese government officials are posters here, maybe they should take a shot at answering this question since they areour largest creditor and the largest creditor in the history of other nations.  Well, we could go to the middle east and throw ourslves on the mercy of the arabs and beg for some money back.  Maybe that could work, that is, if our relationship with the arabs is on good standing and we have taken reasonable steps to reduce our dependence on their only export.

  6. Remove the troops and bring them home. End of story. You don't have to have a shred of intelligence to work that one out which just goes to show you how intelligent Americans really are.

  7. We spend alot more on welfare than we do on the war. Cut off welfare for the lazy and put that money towards our national debt. How about supporting the war? You ever think about that?

  8. We should bill Iraq, but we won't.  We would still be paying for it with the purchase of their oil, but it wouldn't hurt so much.

I think that we ought to demand that they pay at least some of this huge bill which we incurred on their behalf.

We could deliniate it based on the fact that the actual war only lasted a couple of weeks, we ought to pay for that.  The peacekeeping effort is what has lasted for 5 years, they ought to be responsible for the policing of their own country.

  9. This is all a big game.  It's so sad, seriously.  People at the very top of the food chain, are laughing at us down here.  They create this stuff (war, economic disaster, ect.) for FUN!!...I got a thumbs down, but they probably got their degree from CNN university.

  10. Iraq is bringing in billions in oil money.  We need to make them start paying for it.  We need to eliminate the pork our legislators are attaching to legislation in agreement to get it passed.  We need to cut ineffective government programs and wasteful spending by our legislators.  And we need to overhaul welfare.  I spoke with a social worker recently that told me she had 4th and 5th generation welfare clients that arrived at her office knowing more about what they are entitled to than she does.  We are fostering generations of people who believe they don't have to or need to work.  We need to eliminate welfare for everyone but the elderly and disabled.  We need to institute workfare for for people on hard times and the lazy.  Workfare would incorporate daycare, working, and training so that people could survive until they find jobs.  Work, pass drug screenings, and attend job training or don't get paid.

  11. We are already paying the troops (if they are here or over there)....how much does our military cost at peace? Here goes an idea...lets do away with welfare and lets see how much more money we can use for the national debt.
