  1. Some have drivers, some are programmed. Monorails thatwork in like, disneyland are computer-controlled. but those used for comuting, long-distance or sight-seeing have a driver.

  2. The Las Vegas Monorail is completely automated. When it first opened, there were a series of issues regarding the computerized system. Trains were prone to passing stations, traveling with the doors open, and so on.

  3. Yes.

  4. Either, depending on size, speed, and function. Entertainment types tend to be automated, while passenger-carrying for profit tend to have a real driver in case of emergency.

  5. The Las Vegas monorail does have a driving cab at each end of the train for use in emergency, but normally the line is computer controlled. The proposed extension of the line to McCarran airport from the MGM Grand is in doubt partly because of opposition from taxi drivers who perceive a loss of income.

  6. In Seattle the monorail has a driver, but in disneyworld (Florida) it does not, so this one must be computer operated!
