1. Its not so dumb! Sounds like a good idea. A small, four wheeled electric cart. Powered by batteries recharged by solar energy.

Have you seen those motorised bar stools than some people have made? Now there's a start! That crossed with a golf cart. Maybe we've got something here!!!

  2. A vehicle that requires no fuel? how would it run?

Isn't that called the Honda Prius?

and if everyone had one, then there would be traffic.

Kinda sounds like that moving street they used on the Jetsons.

  3. Except, what about needing to carry stuff, like groceries, home?

But, yes, I'd vote for tiny cars that were easier on gas.

  4. A better idea would be to make moving paths and roads. Think what fun it would be. Some airport buildings have moving paths already.

  5. My guess is the Law of Conservation of Energy. Or, in laymans terms, you can't get somthin for nuthin. Closest you'll get is a sidewalk or in some cities a bike lane where powered vehicles aren't supposed to drive in.

  6. See that would be a could idea but what people are forgetting in the big picture of thing is these electric cars were starting to make and plug in, now your buring electricity and look what were using to make electricity. Either way gas or electric were using and pollutting the earth.

  7. Everything needs to be fuelled - if it was so easy to make something that didn't require fuel, we would have no global warming.

Anything that is solar powered simply wouldn't be able to go fast enough - people journey time would double or triple!

Also, i think you miss understand the concept of car pools.

It isn't very efficient for people to drive to work in a car with 4 seats empty... but that doesn't mean that it would be better for everyone to have their own little car, it'd probably be worse for the environment.

  8. The Sinclair C5 came out about 20+ years ago and flopped,,similar idea but impracticable

  9. Good idea. Perhaps it is a simple case of getting round to it.

  10. Bit like the Sinclair C5 of a few years ago ? Sorry, but most people would not want to be seen on them.can you imagine riding one through your local council estate ? You would be lucky to get out in one piece !!

  11. its called a rascal, but they dont go very fast, i guess you could modify it to go faster, i can see granny now doin 60 on the freeway!

  12. It is called power to weight ratio it dont work

  13. The Japanese already have it's called the Enertia Electric Motorcycle

  14. Go-Kart?

  15. It's called a moving pavement as at airports. Just needs a bit of a design alteration and you have it

  16. They already have, Florida is loaded with 'em. Golfcarts they call'em.

  17. Good idea.

So what you are saying is like the scooters that you see people useing, but smaller and not so 'old people' looking?

nev6775: I really like your idea!

  18. they tried that, it's call the segway and no one liked it.
